Keisei Narita SKY ACCESS Line was opened in 2010 to shorten the travel time between Tokyo and Narita Airport from 51 minutes to 36 minutes with its maximum train speed of 160km/h. In order to operate in a short travelling time, the train speed needed to be kept high, thus the turnout No.38 was adopted in the newly-built track. No.38 turnout is the largest turnout in Japan with total length of 135m, and its application is limited for fastest speed line such as Shinkansen (high-speed train) track.
