In 2008, Currenta, the railway and track operator of Bayer Chemical Werke in Germany, decided to be the first user of FFU synthetic sleepers in Germany. The switch is still in operation without sleeper and superstructure problems. To this day, Currenta FFU mainly installs sleepers with a cross-section of 14x24 cm in the various plants in Germany.
