When renovating the Spoorbrug Mook on the Maaslijn, ProRail used FFU sleepers with elevations in the bearing area. As a result, a cost and load-efficient solution could be used and a durable structure could be maintained in the long term. According to the approval, e.g. in Germany and Japan, it is possible to efficiently dimension a suitable basic sleeper by increasing the support area.
