In 2017, DB, Deutsche Bahn decided to replace the old wooden sleepers on the Hans-Knipp railway bridge in Duisburg with new FFU bridge sleepers with an optimized cross-section. On the basis of efficient logistics on the part of Sekisui, 1667 sleepers were processed on site and installed on the more than 100-year-old bridge within 6 weeks after the track was closed.
